Just around 400 species of landbirds can be found along the East Asian Flyway. Different types of ecosystems, such as broadleaf forests and arctic tundra, are created by complex biogeographic processes. However, land cover change and climate change pose direct threats to habitat loss, and efforts to safeguard migrating landbirds in this region have largely focused on preventing wasteful hunting. The water-life protection initiative protects numerous important breeding bird species and improves migratory bird feeding.
